Before cultivating dates, it is important to know that the hot region is more useful for this. If we talk about India, here it is cultivated more in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The second special thing is that there are many types of dates and the method of cultivation of each date is different and the time is taken in the fruit of its plant also depends on the variety of dates. In such a situation, you have to prepare on the basis of each type. It includes Barhi, Khuneji, Hilavi, Jamli, Khadravi, etc. Date palm cultivation takes a lot of time. It is not like other farming that you will not get results in one season. For this you have to wait for many years, it has big trees and you have to give at least three years to farming. This cultivation is like mango and you have to give it a long time. Once the fruits start growing then your earning process also starts. For farming, sandy land is needed. The cultivation of date palm requires a dry climate and its cultivation is more in the areas around the desert. Its plant needs a temperature around 30 degrees for its initial development. You cultivate it in friable soil and this tree has to be planted at a distance. For this, special pits have to be prepared and they also have to be prepared a month before the seeds are dwarfed. It can be cultivated in any type of soil, but good drained, deep sandy loam soil with pH 7-8 is suitable for good yield and good yield. Avoid growing in soil whose surface is hard up to 2 meters below. Alkaline and salty soils are also suitable for its cultivation but the date palm yield is low.

Plow the field two to three times till the soil becomes friable. After the soil is leveled, dig pits of size 1 m x 1 m x 1 m in summer. Keep these pits open for two weeks. After that fill the pits with well-decomposed cow dung and fertile soil. Chlorpyrifos 50ml or put phorate 10g, 200g, and captain 20-25g each in the pit. Sowing is done in the month of February to March and in the month of August to September. For transplanting, dig pits of size 1m x 1m x 1m at a distance of 6m or 8m. When using the row to row and plant to plant spacing of 6m, then 112 new plants are used in one acre, while 63 new plants are used per acre with the spacing of 8m x 8m. Before transplanting the root portion in the pits, the root base should be treated with IBA 1000 ppm and Chlorpyriphos 5 ml. per liter of water for two to five minutes. Irrigation is given at 10-15 days intervals in summer, while in winter at 30-40 days intervals. The first irrigation is given after pollen is released. Irrigate at regular intervals after the fruit set. Keep the field clean and weed-free. Weeding and weeding should be done depending on the intensity of weeds. Use mulch to control weeds.

Irrigation should be done between 15 to 20 days after the seeding of the seed. In winter, it is enough to irrigate it even once a month. Like other normal farming, these plants have to be grown. Also, after about 4 to 5 years, your yield starts, and from then on you’re earnings starts. On average, 70 to 100 kg of dates is obtained from one plant after five years. At the same time, 70 saplings are planted in one acre and more than 5000 kg of dates are available and its rate is up to Rs 50 per kg.
