Its origin :- It is originated in mughal times Jahangirs wife Noor jahan invented this art she is also great artist she knew kashidakari.After mughal periods it spreads in whole country but Luckhnow is thecity where this embroidery is found .
Colours :- In olden days only white colours cloth and white threads can be used but the trends changed and many colours of cloth and threads are used now contrast also used.
Designs: motifs are used like floral in which leaf flowers, stems, kairi, box are used
threads: threads used mainly cotten threads stiches can be done with four or six threads
Stiches : stiches used are chain, stem stich, button hole jaali, cross stich, path work
theare are more than 20.000 workers are involved in this art but they cant get much money
Now this embroidery is famous in abroad also cloths for both men and women are made
chinkari has become the identity of Luckhnow. This embroidery is also going on from the times of nawabs. Actually mukesh badla work clothes were expensive for the common people.
